Animals at Chitwan National Park



After spending the night in ___________ close to Lumbini, we traveled by bus to Chitwan
A beautiful National Park in Southern Nepal.
While there we saw three kinds of deer
An alligator, elephants, a rhino, monkeys, more cows, pigs, goats, and many colorful birds.
To visit the park, we went on an early morning expeditions by jeep.

Later that same afternoon we took a very peaceful ride down the river in a dugout canoe.

Birthplace of Buddha

Before going to our hotel, we drove first to Lumbini.
Birthplace of Buddha.The founder of the Buddhist religion was born in 623 B.C.
Very large, bronze statue at the entrance to the gardens.
It is said that when Buddha was born
he stood up and took six steps
And pointed to heaven.
Pool in front of the temple where it is believed that
Buddha's mother bathed before giving birth.
